Healing Is Possible. Recovery Starts Here.
ABQ Wellness provides compassionate, evidence-based Intensive Outpatient treatment for adults facing substance use and mental health challenges — right here in Albuquerque.
You don't have to do this alone.
If you or someone you love is struggling with addiction, taking the first step can feel overwhelming. We understand. At ABQ Wellness, we meet you exactly where you are — without judgment, without pressure, and with genuine care.
We specialize in treating adults with substance use disorders, including those also living with co-occurring mental health conditions of any kind — from depression and anxiety to trauma, bipolar disorder, and beyond. Because addiction rarely exists in isolation, we treat the whole person, addressing both together.
Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) allows adults 18 and over to receive structured, meaningful treatment while continuing to live at home, work, and stay connected to the people who matter most. Recovery doesn't require putting your life on hold. It means building a life worth staying well for.
Why ABQ Wellness
Founded and Led by Medical Professionals
ABQ Wellness isn't run by investors — it's owned and guided by practicing medical providers, including a physician (MD), a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), and an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP). That means your care is shaped by people who understand addiction and mental health at the deepest clinical level, and who answer to your recovery — not a bottom line.

Rooted in New Mexico, Committed to New Mexico
We aren't a national chain. We live here, work here, and are raising our families here. We've seen firsthand the toll that addiction has taken on our state — on our neighbors, our friends, and our communities — and we built ABQ Wellness because New Mexicans deserve exceptional care, close to home. When our community heals, we all heal.

True Dual Diagnosis Expertise
Addiction rarely travels alone. Whatever mental health condition you're facing alongside substance use — depression, anxiety, trauma, bipolar disorder, or any other diagnosis — we treat both together, because lasting recovery means healing the whole person, not just one piece.

Care That Fits Your Life
Our outpatient schedule means you can keep working, caring for family, and living at home while getting the focused support you need, several days a week.

A Community That Understands
You'll be welcomed by clinicians and peers who get it. Here, you're never a diagnosis or a case number — you're a person with a future.

About Us
About ABQ Wellness
ABQ Wellness was founded on a simple belief: everyone deserves the opportunity to heal without putting their life on hold.
We are a locally owned, provider-led practice founded by a Physician, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and a Medication Aide who live and serve in New Mexico. Our mission is to provide compassionate, evidence-based treatment for adults struggling with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
Unlike many treatment programs, our clinical decisions are guided by experienced medical professionals—not corporate interests. We believe in treating the whole person, recognizing that addiction often exists alongside trauma, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, grief, and other mental health challenges.
Our approach is built on compassion, respect, and evidence-based care. We believe recovery is possible for everyone, asking for help is a sign of strength, and lasting healing begins with connection, dignity, and hope.
At ABQ Wellness, we're committed to bringing exceptional, individualized care to New Mexicans—close to home.

Our Clinical Model
Our program is built on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), one of the most extensively researched and effective approaches to treating addiction and mental health conditions, integrated with the Matrix Model — a structured, evidence-based framework designed specifically for substance use recovery. Together, they help you understand the patterns behind addiction, build practical coping skills, and create lasting change.

Our Commitment
To every person who walks through our doors, we promise:

You will be treated with dignity. No shame, no judgment, no lectures. Addiction is a medical condition, not a moral failure — and you will be cared for like the whole human being you are.
Your care will be led by clinical excellence. As a program owned by medical professionals, we hold ourselves to the highest standard. Every decision about your treatment is guided by medical judgment and what's best for your recovery — nothing else.
We will treat all of you. Your substance use, your mental health, your physical health — together, under one roof. You will never be told your needs are someone else's department.
We will meet you where you are. Whether this is your first time seeking help or your tenth, whether you're certain or scared, our door is open. Recovery isn't a straight line, and we'll walk it with you.
We will never give up on you. Setbacks are part of healing. What matters is that you keep showing up — and when you do, we'll be here.
We are invested in New Mexico. This is our home too. We're committed not just to your recovery, but to a stronger, healthier community for all of us — one person, one family at a time.
